This Paso Talk will cover all aspects of water for the City of Paso Robles. This will include a bit of history, a discussion of our sources of supply, the nature of groundwater aquifers, the impacts of the Salinas River, and water from Lake Nacimiento. We will give a brief description of the water treatment plant process and how the distribution system works to bring water to homes at proper pressures.
Then we will talk about the quantities of supplies and how much water is needed to serve the community at full build-out. We will do a short section on how utility billing systems work, the nature of meters, and our current rates.
We will wrap up with a look at Wastewater and Storm Water systems, the wastewater treatment plant, our Tertiary Treatment and the new Recycled Water supply that is in the works. We will show how Recycled Water will fit in the overall water supply plan and how it can assist in making the Paso Robles Groundwater Basin sustainable for decades to come.
